Remove flcker of logitech web camera

When I joined a teleconference using Logicool web camera C615,

I've found that its screen has flickered. So to remove this flicker, I've found good comments  to remove flicker using some the internet search engines as following:(this comment is unfortunately in Japanese)

This comment said that Logicool tool "Camera Settings" can remove flicker.

I've tried to download it from the support page of C615,

and install it.

In this tool, you can use  "Anti flicker" setting. The power supply frequency in my area  is 50Hz, so I've choose 50Hz in anti flicker page. But this setting is not saved to C615, so if you unplug C615, this setting is removed.


"Camera Setting" tool is available for macOS and Windows.

Data Center Setting in Zoom

Some dayes ago, I've received a mail from Zoom as flollwing:

Starting April 18, paid account customers will be able to opt in or out of specific data center regions for real-time meeting data in transit to customize the data center regions available to their accounts. Will be. Administrators of Zoom accounts and account owners of paid accounts can be set at the account, group, or user level.

After April 18th (US time), please access the Zoom web portal and configure the settings.

I've checked the setting of Zoom, I've found it as following:

を遠隔会議で利用していると、フリッカーが激しく映像が非常に見にくいことに気が付きました。これだと、これ以降、相手の方に申し訳がないのでなんとかできないかと思い、検索エンジンで探したところ、以下の投稿を見つけました。

これを読むと、Logicoolが出している「Camera Settings」というアプリケーションで設定ができるようです。

さっそく、C615のサポートページを見てみると、

というWWWページからダウンロードできることがわかりました。これをインストールすると、記事の説明

 「アンチフリッカー」で60Hzか、50Hzを選択すれば、フリッカーが消えます。

に従って設定をすると、フリッカーが消えることがわかりました。ただ、カメラに記録させるわけではないようで、カメラを抜いてしまうと60Hzの設定に戻るようです。この設定アプリケーションはmacOSとWindows、ともに提供されているようです。

Zoomでの利用データセンターの設定

今日、Zoomから以下のようなメールを受け取りました。

4月18日より、有料アカウントのお客様は、転送中のリアルタイムミーティングデータに関して、特定のデータセンターリージョン（地域）に対してオプトインまたはオプトアウトすることで、アカウントが使用できるデータセンターリージョンをカスタマイズできるようになります。Zoomアカウントの管理者、および、有料アカウントのアカウントオーナーは、アカウント、グループ、またはユーザーレベルで設定可能です。

4月18日（US時間）以降、ZoomのWebポータルにアクセスして設定を行ってください。

 さっそく設定を見ると、以下のような設定項目があることを確認しました。

FreeBSD 12.1のSamba4でのパスワードファイルの場所

Sambaサーバーを移行しようとしたときに、ユーザーのパスワードファイルの場所がわからずに苦労しました。いろいろと試していると以下の方法で場所を見つけることができました。

$ pdbedit -L
tdbsam_open: Failed to open/create TDB passwd [/var/db/samba4/private/passdb.tdb]
tdbsam_getsampwnam: failed to open /var/db/samba4/private/passdb.tdb!
User Search failed!
$

/var/db/samba4/privateの下を見てみました。

$ sudo ls /var/db/samba4/private
Password:
msg.sock        passdb.tdb      secrets.tdb
$

なので、以下のようにtdbファイルをコピーしてユーザーの以降ができたことを確認しました。

# cp PATHNAME/passdb.tdb PATHNAME/secrets.tdb /var/db/samba4/private
# pdbedit -L
user1:2003: Name1
user2:2001: Name2
#

The location of password file of samba 4 on FreeBSD 12.1

Today, I've tried to install new samba server and migrate users from old server to new one. If I could  found user and password file of samba, then I just copy it, but I could not found. At first, I tried to list users as following:

$ pdbedit -L
tdbsam_open: Failed to open/create TDB passwd [/var/db/samba4/private/passdb.tdb]
tdbsam_getsampwnam: failed to open /var/db/samba4/private/passdb.tdb!
User Search failed!
$

Fortunately I've get the password file location from this error message.

$ sudo ls /var/db/samba4/private
Password:
msg.sock        passdb.tdb      secrets.tdb
$

Ok, I've copied it to new server and ...

# cp PATHNAME/passdb.tdb PATHNAME/secrets.tdb /var/db/samba4/private
# pdbedit -L
user1:2003: Name1
user2:2001: Name2
#

It worked.
